Reducing oral malodor
The most effective management of oral malodor is to reduce the oral bacteria content, particularly anaerobic bacteria, on the dorsum of the tongue. [Scully et al, 1994; ADA, 2003] Control of oral bacteria can be achieved through brushing with toothpaste, flossing, eating, chewing gum and tongue scraping or brushing and all of these may help reduce oral malodor. [Outhouse et al, 2006; Suarez et al, 2000]
