DEALING WITH ORAL MALODOR

dealing with oral malodor

Reducing oral malodor

The most effective management of oral malodor is to reduce the oral bacteria content, particularly anaerobic bacteria, on the dorsum of the tongue. [Scully et al, 1994; ADA, 2003] Control of oral bacteria can be achieved through brushing with toothpaste, flossing, eating, chewing gum and tongue scraping or brushing and all of these may help reduce oral malodor. [Outhouse et al, 2006; Suarez et al, 2000]

Addressing oral malodor

The symposium, 'Addressing Oral malodor ', took place at the International Association for Dental Research Continental European Division (CED) & Israeli Division (ID) Congress in September 2007.
